The Carter Wind Quintet who gave our recital on Wednesday, 14th July

Carter Quintet formed at Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 2009 following a shared passion for the promotion of new innovative and diverse music in collaboration with performances of core Wind Quintet repertoire. They are currently working with composer Raymond Yiu on his wind quintet, comissioned by Harrison Birtwistle and performed by the London Sinfonietta, on two final movements to complete this work. They are the nominated ensemble by GSMD for the Mary Ryan Richmond Society Award in collaboration with young composers and recently they won the Launchpad Prize for Wind Quintets. Keen educators, the ensemble frequently take their music into schools for concerts and 'Wider Opportunities'. Carter Quintet have been appointed Junior Fellows at Guildhall School of Music and Drama for the 2010/2011 academic year.
